Synopsis:
This telenovela tells the intense love that two sisters, 'Mónica' and 'Aimée', felt for the handsome and brave man, 'Juan del Diablo'.
Juan del Diablo and Andrés Alcázar y Valle are sons of the same father, Mr. Francisco Alcázar y Valle, a wealthy man who owns the Campo Real azur-producing hacienda.
But the first one is a disaster, the result of his extramarital relationship with a poor fisherman's wife, while the second one is his illegitimate son, conceived with his wife, Sofía Molina, a sophisticated socialite woman who is also a liar.
Juan, nicknamed "the Devil" for his heroic and conflicting personality, was abused by the fisherman after his mother's death, who has a terrible aversion to him and his father.
Francisco learns of Juan's existence and expresses in a letter his desire to recognize him as his son and provide him with a proper home, but Sofía opposes and dismisses him. Francisco goes out to deliver the letter to Noel Mancera, his lawyer and friend, but his horse has an accident on the way.
While suffering, he promises his son Andrés that he will love and accept Juan as a brother.
Francisco dies and Sofía hides the letter behind seven padlocks before rejecting and expelling Juan from the hacienda.
