Synopsis:
Private detective Leonardo Rivadeneira receives a visit from a beautiful and elegant woman who identifies herself as Magdalena Dumont, and proceeds to tell him a terrifying story: Years ago, Magdalena's daughter Estefanía was kidnapped.
Engineer Octavio Muriel, Magdalena's husband, went to the designated place with the ransom money, but the criminals fled with the girl in a helicopter that exploded in the air, leaving no survivors. Before the accident, a kidnapper shot Octavio's hand, who has since used a metal prosthesis.
Desperation led Magdalena to alcoholism, but in an effort to quit drinking, she began her own investigation to clarify the events surrounding Estefanía's last days.
The results of that investigation are horrifying, as they point to Octavio as the mastermind behind the kidnapping of his own daughter. But to Magdalena's joy, it is discovered that Estefanía did not actually die and now lives in Canada under the new identity of Natalia de Jesús. Natalia, who lost her sight in the explosion, does not remember her past and now works as a teacher for blind children.
