Synopsis

Mexican Soap Opera Carousel 1989 of Music and Memories of Yesterday
Carousel was the Mexican version of the Argentine children's soap opera Miss Teacher (based on the original Argentine version Jacinta Pichimahuida. The adaptation for Mexico was produced by Valentín Pimstein for Televisa and aired in 1989.

It covers the daily life of a group of children who are students at a Mexican primary school ("La Escuela Mundial") and their relationships with their teacher, Teacher Ximena (Gabriela Rivero).

In the novel, several themes about life are touched upon, in addition to highlighting values such as love, trust, and friendship. One of the themes explored in the novel is the differences between the upper and lower classes of Mexican society - especially as seen in a romantic relationship between Cirilo, a poor black boy (played by Pedro Javier Vivero), and a spoiled rich girl, Maria Joaquina Villaseñor (played by Ludwika Paleta).

Characters:

Teacher Ximena Fernández
She is something like the embodiment of everything that is good. Teacher Ximena was a teacher, friend, and mother to her students; with a kind demeanor and enormous patience, the teacher was loved by all. Teacher Ximena is one of the few female protagonists in the history of the telenovela who does not have a romantic interest other than that of her mother and her students.
