SEASON 1
Aspiring surgeon María Alejandra Rivas Cavalier is admitted to the intern program at Santa María University Hospital. Daughter of one of the most famous surgeons of her time, now suffering from Alzheimer's, María Alejandra must carry the responsibility that her last name gives her. Her group of new friends, Jorge Viana, Cristina Solano, Isabel Henao, and Augusto Maza, will now become her new family. María Alejandra faces loneliness helped by these new people and by the romantic relationship she establishes with Andrés Guerra, one of the best surgeons at the hospital. Through interesting medical stories, the protagonists intertwine their lives and emotions in the hospital that will now be their new home.
SEASON 2
The beginning of this season is the continuation of the events left open at the end of the first season. Andrés Guerra is imprisoned for allegedly causing the overdose of medications to Helena Cavalier. Augusto suffers burns all over his body for being in a bus that exploded in flames, however, he survives and is taken to Brazil for an extreme reconstructive treatment. In this season, new doctors arrive at Santa María: Dr. Felipe Becerra, Dr. Rafael Gómez, and Dr. Violeta Botero. Andrés forgives María Alejandra for not trusting him, they are both very happy and Andrés proposes to María Alejandra. Some time passes, when Andrés discovers he has an aneurysm, he decides to hide it from María Alejandra, causing their breakup.
