Synopsis
Cristina Álvarez Rivas is a young beautiful and sweet woman who lives on a hacienda located in the state of Tabasco, next to her father Don Severiano Álvarez a strong and authoritative man, and her mother Doña Consuelo Rivas de Álvarez a noble and refined woman. Cristina falls in love with Diego Hernández, a peon who works on the hacienda, and knowing that her father will never accept her relationship with a peon, she gives herself to him as a way to show her love. Through the scheming employee Raquela, Don Severiano learns about the relationship between his daughter and Diego. He explodes in anger and burns down the shack where Diego lives, and swears that he will never let them be together. When he is about to beat Cristina, she confesses to her father that she is pregnant.
